DRK Lighting played a pivotal role in the lighting retrofit of WSP’s London head office, on Chancery Lane, delivering a future-ready, energy-efficient workspace through a close collaboration with the global engineering firm. Spearheaded by WSP’s Sacha Abizadeh and Armando Villasenor, the project focused on integrating cutting-edge lighting technology, employee well-being, and sustainability.

 

As the lead lighting supplier, DRK provided a range of high-performance luminaires, helping reduce the functional lighting power density from 11.8W/sqm to an impressive 5.54W/sqm. Their smart lighting solutions included occupancy-responsive systems and adaptable controls that allow dynamic reprogramming for various office uses and events.

The design maximised natural light integration, using linear luminaires and downlights to complement daylight and create a balanced, comfortable atmosphere. DRK’s flexible fittings, such as track-mounted lights and decorative pendants, ensured long-term adaptability to changing workplace needs.

 

Throughout the project, DRK and WSP remained aligned in their commitment to sustainability, reducing energy consumption and minimising waste. This collaboration showcases how innovative lighting can enhance productivity, wellness, and environmental responsibility. Following the project’s success, DRK continues supporting WSP in future developments in London and globally.
