We are thrilled to share that DRK Lighting has recently been recognised with the New Employer Engagement Award by South Thames College Group. This honour marks a milestone in our partnership with the college as we celebrate a successful first year of providing work experience placements for their electrical students.
New Employer Engagement Award from South Thames Colleges Group
Over the past year, we welcomed 16 talented college students into a work experience program. This initiative was designed to give aspiring electricians hands-on industry experience, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge to real life. We’re proud to share that four of these students made such a strong impression that we temporarily employed them to develop their skills further.
The collaboration with South Thames College Group has been enriching, both for us as an organisation and for the students who have gained invaluable insights into the electrical field and practical experience. DRK even continued to employ 4 of the students over their summer holidays and provided introductions for them to gain further employment with electrical contractors that we work with.
As we look ahead to the new year, we’re excited to announce that DRK’s involvement in this scheme will continue. We are committed to creating more impactful experiences for students and nurturing the future of the electrical industry.
