DRK Wimbledon Sleeve Sponsorship

We are still buzzing from last week’s Wimbledon game away to Chelsea. It was such a pleasure to see our DRK logo on the shirt sleeve of the Dons’. The response we’ve had to our sleeve sponsorship has been amazing, with quite a few trying to get their hands on the actual one-off shirts from that evening. Even Chelsea’s World Cup winner, Enzo Fernandez, swapped his shirt for our DRK Wimbledon one at the end of the match.

Last Wednesday’s match between Chelsea and Wimbledon was such an exciting game, and Wimbledon was still in with a chance of a result even up until the 101st minute when our number 10, Al-Hamidi, almost found a way to goal only to be denied with a last-ditch tackle by Chelsea’s number 2, Axel Disasi. Wimbledon put up a strong fight and played with great heart but ultimately fell short against their more experienced opponents. Despite the loss, they can be proud of their efforts and their ‘never-say-die’ attitude on the pitch. It had been a long time since these two local rivals had played each other, and hopefully, another cup draw soon will give Wimbledon another swing at it. DRK Lighting will definitely be interested in being the shirt sponsor again if that ever happens.

Meanwhile, DRK Lighting will now start to focus its attention on the community side of AFC Wimbledon and will engage with an amazing charity, the Wimbledon Dons Local Action Group. The charity organisation works hard to support the local community in and around the London SW19 postcode. The charity’s main mission is to empower and help those in need, especially during difficult times, such as, the current pandemic and the energy crisis, which has affected so many people. Wimbledon Dons Local Action Group provides various services to the community, including delivering groceries and medications to vulnerable groups, providing hot meals to those in need, and offering emotional support to those struggling with mental health issues. They also work closely with local schools and organisations to provide educational and recreational activities for children and young adults.

DRK Lighting believes that our involvement with the charity would be a great opportunity to give back to the community and contribute to a noble cause. We plan to provide financial support as well as volunteer our time and expertise to help the charity achieve its goals.
