With half the team off chasing the sunshine, we thought we’d throw a little something for those holding down the fort! ☀️
Last Friday afternoon, we turned up the heat in true DRK style- with chilli sauce making, cocktails, and good company. While some of the team were out soaking up rays, we made sure the rest didn’t miss out on the summer vibe.
Hot Sauce - DR.K’s Mouth on Fire:
Yes, you read that right. We made our very own hot sauce, from scratch and bottled it with care (and gloves). Not for the faint of heart, DR.K’s Mouth on Fire is a crowd-pleaser and a sinus-clearer. We’re sorry to disappoint; it’s not available for sale, but if you’re in the office, you’ll likely spot a rogue bottle floating around the kitchen.
DRK’s Rum Tin:
To balance out the burn, we brought out our beloved horsebox cocktail bar, also known as the Rum Tin, offering a couple of rum cocktails: Cuba Libres and Mojitos. It may have been sipping cocktails in a car park, but hey, it felt luxurious.
Team Wellbeing at DRK Lighting:
Since our inception, we’ve made a purposeful effort to invest in our team and ensure they feel appreciated. AFC Wimbledon won promotion to League One, on Monday, where we shall be playing against the likes of Cardiff, Luton, Plymouth, Huddersfield and Bolton next year.
It was an amazing day at Wembley for the Wombles, beating Walsall FC 1-0 with a fantastic Myles Hippolyte strike.
DRK Lighting had 18 of our team at the match to witness history. As sponsors of the prestigious Captain’s Lounge at Plough Lane, DRK Lighting are delighted for the team and everyone at the club who have worked so hard for this outcome - Come on you Dons!

DRK Lighting was well represented in a surprisingly well-contested @afc_wimbledon sponsors game, which we won 4-2. Our MD, Darren, as Manager, demanded a lot from his side, considering their age and condition, with constant demands for ‘gegenpress’ and ‘low block’ in the same sentence.
Craig was the midfield ninja who constantly tackled and drove with the ball.
A great time was had by all, and a big thank you to AFC Wimbledon, Andrew, Alex, James and Sam, for organising such a wonderful event.

Having taken a well deserved 2 nil lead it was difficult to take only 1 point from this match. Especially, when what looked like a perfectly good goal for us to go further ahead was chalked off and they are awarded a dubious penalty in 97th minute.
Goals change games and referees decisions are really not going our way lately.
But away from the controversy on the pitch it was great to see DRK’s campaign for the charity @donslocalaction (DLAG) posted everywhere throughout the stadium. The QR code on all print directed straight to DLAG Justgiving page where the Wimbledon faithful could donate towards their local community outreach.
